The program has run an exhibition of indigenous art, has promotional venues that display art in a variety of sponsored locations around Mildura, helps artists with supplies, framing, printing and general professional self promotion. 100% of all proceeds of any money raised goes to the artists.

FREE Gardening Basic Tips and Produce

The Mildura Community House offers free garden tips and produce every Monday from 10 am until 12 noon. We will soon have some cooking demonstrations in the future on how to cook these healthy vegetables we got every season.

Gardening is a creative and wholesome activity for children and adults alike. The children in particular get the opportunity to learn about growing their own vegetables and maintaining the garden’s health, by being involved in one of the plots at the House. They can then experience the process of harvesting the crops, reading a recipe and preparing food for everyone to share.

The Community Garden over the past twelve months has continued to provide fresh fruit and vegetables for the range of programs. Currently, the garden is flourishing and very productive thanks mainly to the hard work on most days by Karen Hokai, our community volunteer who oversees its health.

For information on how to get involved in the course in the future, contact the House co-ordinator on: (03) 5022 8497
email: eastendchm@bigpond.com or drop in to the centre during business hours.
